Impressions from the Master of Nanoscale Engineering

Congratulation to our new graduates!

The graduation ceremony for the 2013 class of the Master in Nanoscale Engineering was held on Thursday, September 12, 2013, from 3:00 to 5:30 pm, at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon.

Impressions from the 2013 NSE Graduation Ceremony

The relatives of the graduating students, graduates of previous years, our current students, their professors and the administrative staff from the 3 educational institutions in charge of the Master (ECL, UCBL and INSA) had all been invited to this ceremony. After a welcoming speech by Frank Debouck, the president of ECL, the 4 coordinators of the master introduced the master’s local context and the student recruitment statistics. Students who had just finished the first year of the master (M1) then presented their study projects, so that the audience could vote on who would receive the price for the best project. Subsequently, two students humorously talked about their experience during the two years of the master. In this thrid graduation ceremony of thge Master NSE, diplomas were awarded to 24 students from 3 different continents (the Americas, Asia, and Europe). Each student was introduced with a particular emphasis on his/her nationality and background, future (14 of them have already enrolled in a Ph.D. program) and motivation for nanoscience. Three students received their graduation with honors, summa cum laude: Juan Carlos from Peru, Jan-Michael from Sweden/USA and Ran from China. A get-together with cocktails and snacks concluded the ceremony.

The Nanoscale Engineering Movie (2011)

Some of our M2 students of 2010/2011 were kind enough to share their impressions of the Master with you in the form of a short film. The interview took place right before the students started their final internship.
