Physics of Semiconductors, part 1

Physics of Semiconductors, part 1 (UE S1-8)

The course introduces the fundamental concepts of semiconductor solid state physics and shows how the electronic and optical properties can be finely tuned in these materials. It further highlights the prominent role played by semiconductor materials in the design of common electronic and opto‐electronic devices (transistors, LEDs...). Synthesis techniques and elaboration routes are presented as well.

Evaluation

  • Intermediate written exam
  • Final written exam
